Mrs. Chenoweth

Reading - Grade 6, 7

[email protected]

Hello!  I am Mrs. Chenoweth, and I teach Reading here at Caloosa Middle School.  I am originally from Buffalo,  NY which makes me a Buffalo Bills fan.  Go Bills!  I like to spend my time volunteering at the Animal Refuge Center where I recently adopted two dogs - Mina and Murray.  I also like to read, which is what led me to become a reading teacher.  In our reading class, you will learn all the skills you need to become a better reader.  You will get a chance to work on your very own reading path with lessons designed just for you as well as work with classmates to practice  the most important skills.  Together we can go far!

Hello, I am Mr. Marx. I am a 7th and 8th grade reading teacher here at Caloosa Middle School. This is my first year with the district and I am happy to be here. My goal in the classroom is to have an engaging learning environment with many opportunities for students to improve their reading skills. I would also like to encourage a love for reading and a passion for learning. I’m looking forward to meeting you all and I’m looking forward to a great year.

Ms. Jeannette Hernandez

ELA - Grade 7

Hi! My name is Jeannette Hernandez and I am so excited to teach ESOL students this year. It's going to be a wonderful year full of learning and growth. I was born in Puerto Rico and raised in New York City. I was an ESOL student myself growing up and faced many struggles, but I never gave up and became better by reading. Yes, reading is essential for growth. I look forward to meeting many of you and making a difference in your lives.

Hola! Bonjour! Konnichiwa! Aloha!

My name is Ms. Fernandez and I love sushi and iced coffee (very important information). I am a 6th grade Language Arts teacher at Caloosa Middle School. Long ago, I was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, so, anything under 68 degrees is FREEZING! Don’t get me wrong, I will still have my ICED coffee in my hand.

From a young age, I knew that teaching was my passion. Learning has always been exciting for me along with being able to inspire others to love learning as well. Also, teaching runs through my veins! My father was a teacher and a principal at a high school in Cuba, and my mother was a Biology teacher at the same school. Cool, right?

In my classroom, we believe in the "THREE R's" to be successful: Respectful, Responsible, and Ready.

I am thrilled to meet you and begin your middle school journey together. I look forward to teaching you new things and learning new things, as well as making your 6th grade year as enjoyable and memorable as possible. I believe that challenges shape us to become better individuals. We will undoubtedly make the best of every challenge and learn every step of the way, one step at a time. Once a Caloosa Cougar, always a Caloosa Cougar!

Greetings future cougars! I can't wait to meet you. I have taught for twenty four years grades Pre-K-High School. I have a large family, 8 children! Plus three grandchildren, even better. I love kids and love to write. Writing has been a passion of mine for many years. I am from Montana and love the outdoors, reading, writing, kayaking, riding bikes, art, and music plus dance. I incorporate all kinds of different ways to learn and have a very comfortable room with bean bags, rocking chairs, and yoga balls. Not all kids learn the same way so I like to teach in different ways. One more thing I love to debate and teach Debate and English Language Arts!
I would love to see your smiling face in my classroom. Go Cougars!
