Cougar Speech, Debate, and Drama is a club full of great opportunities at Caloosa. Club members can choose events in debate, speech, or drama.I introduce the different areas and coach each student on their event then they practice and compete. We compete monthly around our area, this is a travel club. Club members have the opportunity to be in a national and state tournament. They receive medals for placing in the event they are competing in. The program started four years ago with the Debate and Civic Initiative from the state of Florida with the goal to help middle and high schoolers learn how to speak, debate, and choose dramatic performances to help them become lifelong learners of the world in which we live. We currently meet every Monday from 4:15-5:15, and travel one Saturday a month. You are welcome to attend all meets and drive your child or your child is with me in a rented vehicle paid by the state grant for this Debate and Civic Initiative. We have a very small team, this helps with building strong friendships, team building, and working together as teams for certain events. Also tournaments are free and most meals are covered for travel for the students.
