Mrs. Chenoweth

Reading - Grade 6, 7

caseylc@leeschools.net

Hello!  I am Mrs. Chenoweth, and I teach Reading here at Caloosa Middle School.  I am originally from Buffalo,  NY which makes me a Buffalo Bills fan.  Go Bills!  I like to spend my time volunteering at the Animal Refuge Center where I recently adopted two dogs - Mina and Murray.  I also like to read, which is what led me to become a reading teacher.  In our reading class, you will learn all the skills you need to become a better reader.  You will get a chance to work on your very own reading path with lessons designed just for you as well as work with classmates to practice  the most important skills.  Together we can go far!

Welcome to Cougar Country, I am Ms. Chavarria and I am a 6th grade Reading teacher here at Caloosa Middle School. This is my second year teaching at this amazing school. "The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery" is one of my favorite teaching quotes. It absolutely reveals the reason why I love teaching! Every year, I am able to not only see my students grow academically but as individuals, which is exciting to witness as a teacher. It is a delight to share my passion for reading with my students and create fun activities together to make learning fun!

Hi Cougar families! My name is Brittany Yeatter and this is my 2nd year working at Caloosa Middle. My journey with Caloosa actually started about 20 years ago, however, when I was student at this very school! I feel so fortunate to be back inside these walls, teaching 7th and 8th grade reading this year. I have loved being back in the classroom with our students and am so excited for the rest of the school year watching our students learn and grow.

Ms. Emer

Reading - Grade 7,8

angelane@leeschools.net

I'm Coach Emer: Reading/ESE/ESOL Teacher and Assistant Athletic Director. On and off the field, I am all about accountability and mutual respect. I run my classroom like I run the court, and expect 110% effort from all students. Our classroom culture is one of diversity and understanding, where there is no room for hate, only for acceptance. I enjoy diving into texts right alongside students and having candid conversations about its real world application or lack thereof. My goal for my class every year is to be able to learn how to analyze any sort of text, while having some fun and maturing at the same time. I look forward to seeing you in class and on the court! Go Cougars!

Ms. Fernandez

Language Arts - Grade 6

ingridf@leeschools.net

Hola! Bonjour! Konnichiwa! Aloha!

My name is Ms. Fernandez and I love sushi and iced coffee (very important information). I am a 6th grade Language Arts teacher at Caloosa Middle School. Long ago, I was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, so, anything under 68 degrees is FREEZING! Don’t get me wrong, I will still have my ICED coffee in my hand.

From a young age, I knew that teaching was my passion. Learning has always been exciting for me along with being able to inspire others to love learning as well. Also, teaching runs through my veins! My father was a teacher and a principal at a high school in Cuba, and my mother was a Biology teacher at the same school. Cool, right?

In my classroom, we believe in the "THREE R's" to be successful: Respectful, Responsible, and Ready.

I am thrilled to meet you and begin your middle school journey together. I look forward to teaching you new things and learning new things, as well as making your 6th grade year as enjoyable and memorable as possible. I believe that challenges shape us to become better individuals. We will undoubtedly make the best of every challenge and learn every step of the way, one step at a time. Once a Caloosa Cougar, always a Caloosa Cougar!

Greetings future cougars! I can't wait to meet you. I have taught for twenty four years grades Pre-K-High School. I have a large family, 8 children! Plus three grandchildren, even better. I love kids and love to write. Writing has been a passion of mine for many years. I am from Montana and love the outdoors, reading, writing, kayaking, riding bikes, art, and music plus dance. I incorporate all kinds of different ways to learn and have a very comfortable room with bean bags, rocking chairs, and yoga balls. Not all kids learn the same way so I like to teach in different ways. One more thing I love to debate and teach Debate and English Language Arts!
I would love to see your smiling face in my classroom. Go Cougars!
