Student Recognitions

Student of the Month

Each month the faculty and staff of Caloosa Middle School nominate and vote for a Student of the Month. Students nominated for Student of the Month possess the qualities and characteristics of leadership, scholarship, and citizenship. Students who are awarded Student of the Month receive a certificate and coupons from our business partners.

Coug"A"r Club

Students who receive straight A’s at the end of each quarter are invited to be a part of the Coug"A"r Club. These students are awarded for their academic achievement with a celebration in their honor. Past celebrations include a pizza party and a special breakfast. Our Coug"A"r Club students are recognized at the end of the first, second, and third quarter.

Perfect Attendance

Students who have achieved perfect attendance at the end of the school year are celebrated with special award certificates at our end of the year awards ceremonies.

A/B Honor Roll

At the end of the first semester, students who receive all A’s and both A’s and B’s on their report cards for Q1 and Q2 receive special certificates for A Honor Roll and A/B Honor Roll.

Monthly PBS Reward

Throughout the year, Caloosa Middle School students have the opportunity to earn Paw Pats for demonstrating positive behavior. Paw Pats may be saved and used at our end of the year Paw Pat Festival or may be redeemed throughout the year for our monthly PBS reward. Monthly PBS rewards may include items such as ice cream sandwiches or ice pops at lunch or drawings for gift cards or movie tickets.

Student of Merit

At the end of each quarter, faculty and staff have the opportunity to nominate students for our quarterly Student of Merit awards. Students nominated for Student of Merit may have shown increased academic achievement and/or improvement, taken on a leadership role within the classroom or school community, or have gone above and beyond in their role as a student. Students are celebrated at a small awards ceremony which parents and family are invited to attend.

Do The Right Thing Award

Caloosa Middle School students may be nominated for the Do The Right Thing Award awarded by the Lee County Sherriff’s Office and the Cape Coral Police Department. Students selected to receive the Do The Right Thing Award are invited to a special ceremony put on by the awarding agency.

End of the Year Awards Ceremonies – 6th & 7th Grade

At the end of the school year, each grade level holds a special awards ceremony which is by invitation only. Students are awarded for demonstrating scholarship, leadership, and citizenship. Students receiving an award are invited to attend the awards ceremony along with their family. Our 6th and 7th grade award ceremonies are typically held during the school day during the last week of school.

8th Grade End of the Year Award Ceremony & Dance

At Caloosa Middle School we celebrate our 8th grade students and their promotion to high school with an 8th grade awards ceremony that is by invitation only and is held in the evening during the last week of school. Students are awarded for demonstrating scholarship, leadership, and citizenship. Parents, family, and friends are invited to attend.

Immediately following the awards ceremony, all 8th grade students who have good grades, behavior, and have returned all school property and settled any outstanding fees or fines are invited to attend the 8th grade dance. This dance is for 8th graders only. Although not required, students may choose to dress up for this event in semi-formal attire; however, all students must be in dress code in order to be admitted into the dance.

Paw Pat Festival

The Paw Pat Festival is a culminating event to wrap-up the school year and reward students for demonstrating positive behavior. Any student who has earned Paw Pats throughout the year is invited to attend. During the festival Paw Pats may be redeemed for food items, to play carnival games, or take a turn on the obstacle course, rock climbing wall or the dunk tank.
